Since the release of the National Intellectual Property Strategy in 2008, China's intellectual property landscape has seen remarkable growth. Within a year, FirstLaw P.C. established its China team and has been working closely with various Chinese companies and patent firms, building long-term partnerships based on mutual trust that go far beyond mere business relationships, while earning a reputation for being one of Korea's top expert groups in the field of China IP.
Our China team consists of a number of Korean patent attorneys from various technical backgrounds who are fluent in Chinese, and also a qualified Chinese patent attorney who passed the Chinese patent bar exam. The China team members are fully equipped with specialized knowledge and experience in China's legal system and IP practice, which they have gained by way of studying abroad at Chinese law schools and participating in conferences and seminars on Chinese IP law and practice. Some members have also given lectures or served as expert panelists at China's IP conferences and seminars, as well as in-house meetings held within Chinese companies, on various topics ranging from Korea's IP system to AI and medicine. The members are not only active as professionals in their respective fields, but also serve as a bridge that further promotes mutual cooperation between the IP regimes of Korea and China.
With a thorough understanding of the IP systems of Korea and China, and diverse experiences related to China's IP industry, our Firm's China team has been providing optimal IP solutions for our Chinese clients in all areas of intellectual property rights. This includes handling all steps of prosecution and more complex matters such as invalidation analysis, FTO analysis, trials and litigation.
In addition, the team has set up a WeChat account specifically for our Chinese clients to use for faster and easier communication with our team. The WeChat account is also used to send out regular updates and analyses on revisions to IP-related laws, recent judicial precedents, and technology trends, all in Chinese, in order to assist our Chinese clients in building a successful global IP portfolio.
