Biography

Hwa Kyun Lee is a partner and leader of the firm’s Mechanical Group. He applies his industry experience to procure and enforce patents that the firm’s clients can use to solve practical problems that occur in the course of their business.

A former researcher for a corporate research institute, Mr. Lee has extensive experience formulating products from the idea stage, developing the product, and seeing the product all the way through to production. Mr. Lee uses this experience to provide the firm’s clients with prosecution, enforcement, and due diligence services from the patentee’s perspective in the fields of mechanical design, robotics, automobile and aircraft components, vibration control, mold design, optics, material mechanics, and dynamics.

Mr. Lee gained a good grasp of US and international patent practice, having earned his LL.M. degree in intellectual property from the University of Washington. He also spent time in Japan as part of the firm’s foreign language program, ensuring seamless communication with the firm’s global corporation clients.
