Biography

Hyun Sil Lee is a partner and co-leader of the firm’s Chemical/Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences Group. She manages the firm’s domestic and international pharmaceutical and life science matters.

Ms. Lee has accumulated over 25 years of experience in providing quality services to the firm’s pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Her practice focuses on patent procurement and enforcement, as well as counseling related to patent term extensions and the patent-approval linkage system. Being a licensed pharmacist, Ms. Lee is able to take a multi-faceted approach when providing clients with optimal strategies for their IP needs.

Ms. Lee’s expertise has been recognized annually by publications such as Managing Intellectual Property and IAM Patent as a leading practitioner in Korea. She has been an active member of both the domestic and international IP community, having served as a director of the Korean Patent Attorneys Association (KPAA), special committee member to the KIPO and KPAA, and a council member on the Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, while often sharing her unique knowledge and experiences through seminars, conferences, and articles in international conferences, seminars, and publications.
