Biography

Gyu Cheol Jang is an associate in the firm’s Electrical/Computer/IT Group and leads the Standard Essential Patent (SEP) Team.

Mr. Jang has unparalleled expertise in the fields of wireless communications, audio compression, audio codec, and other international standards, having completed his Ph.D. in audio signal processing and worked as a researcher for the Agency for Defense Development before joining FirstLaw as a patent attorney. He also effectively represents domestic and international corporations in front of the KIPO, Board of Trials, and district courts in such technologies as signal processing, semiconductors, software, electronics, and electrical engineering.
