Biography

Se Hwan Choi, Ph.D., is a partner in the firm’s Mechanical Group. His practice emphasizes strategic patent prosecution, enforcement, and due diligence counseling for global corporations.

Dr. Choi’s focuses on providing customized services to the firm’s Japan clients, having earned his LL.M. degree in intellectual property law at Waseda University and worked for a premier IP boutique firm in Tokyo Japan for three years. His expertise includes handling patents in the mechanical, IT, and material science fields.

Dr. Choi is recognized as a top IP expert in Korea and Japan, as he is frequently invited to speak at symposiums and seminars on topics related to Korean and Japanese IP issues, including being selected as the Korean representative for Japan’s Standard Essential Patent Research Institute, as well as an instructor for the KIPO’s examiners and tribunal panel members in relation to the Japanese patent system. He has also been serving as an expert commissioner before the court and an examiner for the Public Procurement Service in the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
